West Central Florida Labor Council Swears in New Executive Board
TAMPA — The West Central Florida Labor Council has officially installed its executive board for the 2025–2027 term. The new leadership was sworn in during the council’s regular meeting Tuesday night by Elections Committee Chair Scott Turner.
Stephanie Yocum, president of the Polk Education Association, will lead the council as its new president. She is joined by Brian Nathan of IBEW Local 915 as vice president, Bob Loveitt of Teamsters Local 79 as treasurer, and Lanette Edwards of UFCW Local 1625 as recording secretary.
The council, representing union members across several counties in the region, also appointed a diverse group of trustees to serve as board members:
Hillsborough County: Rob Kriete (Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association), Kim Smith (IBEW Local 824), and Andrew Valentine (IBEW Local 915)
Polk, Hardee, and Highlands Counties: Jean Regan (Polk Education Association)
Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto Counties: Roy Sorensen (IATSE Local 412)
Pinellas County: Lynne Winderbaum (AFT Local 2)
Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, and Sumter Counties: Ruddy Pimentel (IBEW Local 915)
At-Large Trustees: Stephen Simon (ATU Local 1464) and Ken Williams (Teamsters Local 79)
Future Labor Leaders Trustee: Jack Wallace (Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association)
Florida Alliance for Retired Americans Trustee: Barb Toepke (Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association)
The newly-seated board represents a broad coalition of organized labor across education, trades, transportation, and service sectors throughout the region.
